Christmas Traffic and a Bottle of Colon Pills
My Christmas was pretty awesome, but also pretty traffic and car road trip filled. Whitey and I headed to Mother Whitey’s house on Saturday morning. We were followed by his sister and three of her kids, ranging from 13 to 20. We waited for them for four hours, before Whitey getting mad enough to leave and stop at a restaurant and wait for them there. We left at 10:00 am for what should have been a four hour trip, and arrived in Prescott at 8:30 pm. It was a long day, but also fun and exciting since Whitey and I love singing and talking in the car. Doesn’t make for a too bad version of a road trip right?
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday morning were spent relaxing and spending quality family time with Whitey’s family, especially his mom who we barely ever get to see. We opened presents, watched Christmas movies and just hung out and read. It was so nice and totally needed. I had been stressed with Christmas shopping and work for the whole week prior to this relaxation moment in Arizona. We headed to Vegas on the morning of Christmas to enjoy every moment of the holiday with each other’s families. We had dinner at my dad and laughed at my sister’s present being an ornament from A Christmas Story. Yes, my sister successfully tracked down the leg lamp ornament. It was hilarious to see my dad open it and place it on the tree as a lone ornament. I think my family got lazy this year because the leg lamp stood alone. We had a great Christmas dinner with my family and headed to the local bar to hang out and meet up with some of my closest friends. It was a blast and Whitey got to meet some of my old friends that I rarely get to see anymore from home.
We woke up hung-over and headed to my mom’s for Christmas breakfast at her house and more presents. Whitey and I could barely stuff everything back into his car to take back to California. It was hilarious. My mom gave me the most hilarious stocking stuffer of colon pills and candy. Whitey and I could not stop laughing at this for the rest of the day. Overall, it was a great holiday. More fun stories to come….
